What is a rising sign and how do you find it?
Your rising sign, or Ascendant, is the zodiac sign that was on the eastern horizon at the exact moment and place you were born. It represents your outward personality — the first impression you give and how you instinctively approach new situations — as opposed to your Sun sign, which is your inner core. Because the Ascendant changes roughly every two hours, you need an accurate birth time and location to find it; an unknown or rounded time is the most common reason a rising sign comes out wrong.
Ascendant vs Sun sign
People often know only their Sun sign because it depends only on the date. The rising sign is different: it depends on the time and place too, because it is literally which constellation was climbing over the eastern horizon as you were born.
